Is it hard? Sometimes. I can tell you from experience that sometimes it is very hard to find the time because, let's face it, we get TIRED! But we do have that special part of us that is able to keep going. Who takes care of us when we are sick? We do. We are tough and able to handle what comes down our path.
Is it worth the hard work? ABSOLUTELY! I get tired and worn out. I even get overwhelmed. But when all is said and done, I raise my kids myself and in this day and age, that is an accomplishment in and of itself. Starting a home based business can be difficult for anyone but us MOMS have a leg up. We are tough. We are able to do it all. And we know the value of being home with our children.
Here are some helpful tips for the work from home Mom: Give yourself 20 minutes a day to work on your business. If you can find more time to devote to it, by all means, go after it. But give yourself at least 20 minutes every day to do something toward your business. It will pay off.
Don't be afraid to put off working on your business until night time. If you have an online business remember that the internet never closes so you can work at any time during the 24 hours in a day. I get online after everyone else goes to bed. I work for a bit and then head off to bed myself.
Use your children to drive you to succeed. The need we have to care, nurture and provide a loving home for our children is a great motivator. Use your home business to allow you to do more for your kids. Let that be it's purpose.
If you have little ones at home, put some of their toys in your office. You will be able to jump on the computer and hammer out some work without feeling you are neglecting your child. They can play in the office while you work. I put a television in my office as well as their books. My little ones can color, read or watch one of their movies while I spend a little bit of time getting some work done on my business. They aren't in another part of the house getting in to trouble and I still feel that I am making headway on bringing in a good paycheck!
