Involving your family in your business is one way to get the job done and keep everybody happy. There are many successful husband and wife selling teams. In many cases, one handles the administrative tasks while the other handles the personal sales. This seems to work well. Everyone contributes to the success of the business, and everyone is happy.
Often, this takes a while to happen. Initially, your family may be a bit skeptical about your new venture. Your children may resent your concentration on something other than them. Your spouse might look on your new business as competition or just another get-rich-quick scheme, a whim, and a waste of time and money. Don't let that discourage you. Be patient with them. Some people just take awhile to adjust to change.
But if they never warm to the idea, you just may have to put your foot down. You may have to say to your children, "For the next hour, I have to work, could you please find something to occupy yourselves with so I can finish my work" The first few times you say this to them there may be huffs and puffs, but stick to your guns, they'll come around and give you the time needed to finish your tasks. Just don't let your business be all-consuming, save some special time for them.
I often tell my kids - Just let me work till noon and then I'll have time for whatever it is you want to do after that. That seems to work well. They accept that because there is something in it for them. It's a compromise - it's something you'll learn to do alot of if you want to accommodate both business and family.
In the beginning, try to prevent any conflict between your family and your new business. Don't postpone any promised outings - Clean the house and do the laundry - And DON'T make dinner late! Family as usual is the key to creating a harmony between your homelife and your new business. Once the other family members see your success, things will begin to change, but until then be patient.
Ask your family for suggestions and ideas and include them somehow, this makes them feel important - making deliveries, making up sales flyers, mailing letters, addressing invitations. I'm sure you can come up with some small task. You'd be amazed at the hidden talent that could be lurking under your roof at this very moment :-)
